Kitchen Inspection
We received our first kitchen inspection on August 9th and are delighted to report that we received a top "5 star" grading for food hygiene.  The inspector was very impressed by our food handling and general practises.

Graduates
It is with real sadness that we say goodbye to our fantastic pre-schoolers.  Everyone at Leaps & Bounds wish them all the luck in the world for their new adventure - school!  We had some really good parties with loads of pictures taken.  A selection of these can be seen in our gallery.

Picnic in the Park
A BIG thank you to all parents & children who came to our very first Picnnic the Park.  Lots of families came and it was great to see the children enjoying themselves.  We all had lots of fun with games and face painting.

Our 1st Birthday Party
We celebrated our 1st birthday on October the 5th with all the staff and children plus a special guest - Eastbourne's Mayor Carolyn Heaps.  She joined the children is singing some songs and was presented with a bouquet by one of the children.  She also sent us a letter afterwards:

"Thank you for inviting me to your 1st birthday tea party.  It was lovely to meet the children and staff of your lovely nursery.  I was very impressed with the roominess of the building but more so - the real feeling of happiness and enjoyment from everyone there, both children and adults.  I wish you all the best for the future and I am sure you will grow with leaps & bounds!!"

See our gallery for pictures.

Fundraiser for Rising Stars
We held a pirate’s day in the nursery to raise funds for Rising Stars nursery who sadly lost their premises, toys & records in a fire.  The children made cakes & snacks which they sold to their Mummies & Daddies.

Every Child A Talker
We have been chosen to be part of the “Every Child A Talker” pilot scheme which will support your child’s language development.  Please see our Partnership with Parents section for more information.

Rhyme Time
Some of our older children submitted poems in a young writers poetry writing competition.  Mentored by Gemma, they wrote about familiar things to them which seemed to be a recipe for success.  Five of our children have been chosen to appear in “My First Poem” – a book to be published later this year.  Keep an eye on the Bestsellers list!

 Paddington Bear’s birthday
A garden party was held in the nursery to celebrate Paddington’s birthday and support “Touching Tiny Lives” a charity supporting research into premature births.  Children brought in their own bears – of all shapes and sizes – and treated them to a picnic in our outside classroom.
